Welcome to Forest Industries Training Institute (FITI), Moshi - Kilimanjaro

The Forest Industry Training Institute (FITI) is a government owned organization within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT). The Institute was established in 1975 through financial assistance from the Swedish Government as a human resource training and development center for the forestry sector.  The overall objective of the Institute was to train middle cadre workers needed in the running of state owned industry known as Tanzania Wood Industry Corporation (TWICO).

The Institute is located in Moshi Town in Kilimanjaro Region 3km from town center along Industrial Road, Njoro Ward. It is registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) with registration number REG/ANE/019 and has been granted full accreditation in November 2005 to offer National Technical Awards (NTA). The Institute currently offers Basic Certificate (NTA 4) in Forest Industries Technology, Technician Certificate (NTA 5) in Forest Industries Technology and Ordinary Diploma (NTA 6) in Forest Industries Technology as well as short courses and consultancies in all environmental and wood industries.
